How is it that swimming is good for asthma?

by admin on March 5, 2010

I have asthma (minor, but still, I have it), and I’ve been told that swimming is the best thing an asmatic can do.

Why is that? I know that all arobic exercises are good for your asthma but swimming seems to be the first things people tell you is good. So, why swimming as opposed to say, jogging or biking.

I’m just curious, considering starting a regular swimming workout. Thanks.

The moist air can be soothing

if it is indoors, the air is moist and warm. cold or dry air makes your asthma symptoms worse.

swimming is an great sport and i have done it for 3 years now. Just about 2 months I started having trouble breathing in swimming and running, so we figured out that I have exerise or minor asthma (like you). I still swim, I just make sure that I take my inhaler before practice. hope you can keep swimming!! :)
